BILATERAL HIP DISARTICULATION

On the 23rd of September, 2016, Robbie Davies underwent five hour surgery to remove the remainder of his leg stumps through bilateral hip disarticulation and won the battle to have the surgery he begged for that so many tried to stop.
He is recovering very well and I have been with him 24/7 both during his brief stay in the ICU and then in the Orthopaedic Ward. 24/7 care that he will continue to receive.
Robbie plans to make a short video for you all in a couple of weeks time so he can thank those who supported him in his fight with all your encouraging words, prayers and love. We both thank you all, our dear Friends and Supporters. XX

JEHOVAH'S WTNESS FAMILY TRYING TO INSTITUTIONALISE ME!!!

FAMILY TRYING TO INSTITUTIONALISE ME!!!
Video by Robbie Davies, a 43 year old cerebral palsy quadriplegic man stalked by his Jehovah Witness family since leaving home nearly 23 years ago, trying relentlessly to prevent him having vital surgery by institutionalisation. Trying through lies and slander. Using police to check up on him pretending they don't know where he is. Pretending they have been prevented contact with him. He totally disowned his family publicly in 2015 when their lies had him placed under a Public Guardian but still persist in their stalking; their slander; their libel. PLEASE SHARE!

Health Benefits Of Brazil Nuts – The Anti-Cancer Superfood

Brazil nuts are quickly becoming one of the hottest foods for improving health and longevity.
Not many foods are able to improve your sexual performance, protect against cancer, and boost your metabolism, but Brazil nuts can!
So what are the specific health benefits of Brazil nuts?
Well, let’s start at the very top with the anti-cancer powerhouse selenium.
Brazil nuts are the densest food source of bioavailable selenium. Selenium is an antioxidant that plays many important roles in our body.
Here’a a quick list of selenium benefits
*Selenium assists thyroid function by converting the inactive T4 (thyroid hormone) into the active T3 form. -> Healthy thyroid function = healthy metabolism
*Selenium’s antioxidant properties improve the function of vitamins E and C, which help to decrease the aging of skin.
*Selenium is a potent health food for men because it boosts testosterone levels and improves sperm production and motility.
*Selenium is important for women as a protective against breast cancer. Dr. Ralph Moss presented studies showing that “The higher the selenium, the lower the [rates of] breast cancer”.
*Selenium fortifies the immune system to protect against bacterial and viral infections.
*Selenium enables a healthy cholesterol ratio by helping to raise HDL and lower LDL.
One of the most impressive benefits of selenium I discovered was from a five-year studyconducted at the University of Arizona and Cornell University. This data showed that, “patients receiving selenium had a 63% decrease in cancer of the prostate, a 58% decrease in colon or rectal cancer and a 46% decrease in lung cancer.”
This is beyond impressive and, again, the highest source of selenium is found in this incredible Brazil nut.
Brazil nuts can be part of an overall healthy diet plan because they contain rich amounts of other key nutrients as well.
They’re a great source of the antioxidant Vitamin E (52% of RDA per 100g) which is required to maintain cell membranes and protect the health of the skin.
Brazil nuts are an excellent source of several B-vitamins, which range in functions from improving brain health to boosting the metabolism.
You’ll also find nice amounts of copper, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and zinc in Brazil nuts too.
Many raw nuts have great health properties, but Brazil nuts are definitely at the very top of the list.
How to many Brazil nuts should I eat?
Just 100g of Brazil nuts provides about 3485% of recommended daily intake of selenium. The 100g is equal to a big handful, but you definitely don’t need that much… and too much of ANY thing can be problematic for you.
We have this idea in our society that if some is good, then 10 times more must be better. Yes, brazil nuts and selenium can give you some great health benefits, but trying to overdose on them can actually damage your DNA.
Two to four nuts a day is a nice sweet spot.
Now, whenever I hear about a “new” superfood that seems to have all of these amazing health benefits, my question is: Do the nutrients in the food actually show up in our bodies? Meaning, can the use of these foods show measurable changes in our blood work (or other biomarkers)?
I was pleasantly surprised that the research for Brazil nuts says, YES:  http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/87/2/379.full
What to know when buying brazil nuts
Because Brazil nuts are mainly protein and healthy fats, they are very much subject to going “rancid” and the delicate oils getting damaged.
The fats of the Brazil nut is where the real magic is at when it comes to the sexual benefits, so it’s pretty important to ensure you have a good source.
Many health food stores and grocery stores now carry Brazil nuts because they’re in such high demand. Make sure that they are firm and not rubbery when you bite into them, buttery texture when you chew, and be sure that they don’t smell “off” (biggest, but hardest to recognize warning sign).
They should be kept in a cool, dry place and eaten relatively quickly. This is why I tend to not recommend buying them from open bulk containers. My favorite source of Brazil nuts is right here: Wild Organic Brazil Nuts
How to eat ’em
Quality brazil nuts taste pretty nice on their own, or maybe with a pinch of sea salt. It’s important to understand that roasted, toasted, roasted, cooked up nuts have the delicate fats within them damaged, and can actually be harmful to your body.
Cooked nuts pale in comparison to the vast benefits of raw nuts. If you want your nuts to be healthy, then please don’t cook them 😉
Brazil nuts can be crushed and added to your favorite salad to provide some nice crunch. Toss 1 or 2 into your smoothie. Chopped and sprinkled on top of your favorite healthy dessert or yogurt. And having fresh Brazil nut butter with chocolate is A-MAZING.

FROM HELL TO HELL

Hi, Our Dear Friends and Supporters.

Over the next few weeks Robbie and I will co-write a bit about our lives. Pre being together and our being together since the 1st of January, 1994. Though I took Robbie under my wings on a 24/7 basis on the 11th of March, 1994, when we had little choice but to marry as we were Jehovah's Witnesses and we could not prove we would not sleep together and bring reproach on the cult and earn our selves eternal damnation. I did offer to have CCTV installed but... I only wanted to be his carer! But unless I was a nurse, which I'm not, that was not permitted without the benefit of marriage. Tut, tut, tut. Some things - actually most things probably - will be cringe worthy. Some things absolutely unbelievable. We will try and make light of horrific stuff without destroying the seriousness of the moment. Bit like look back now and laugh attitude. What else can be done, hey, but laugh. But everything will be truth. We will not write anything unless we have proof to back it up with official documents and reports. Or two plus two equals four; bloody obvious that someone is telling porky pies. Or as Robbie said of his sister at the Tribunal Guardianship review on the 29th of August, 2016, 'Liar, liar, pants on fire'. But the Tribunal wasn't interested in what he had to say. Nor were they interested in what he had to say on the 26th of August, 2015.

As Robbie's family have practically destroyed our lives systematically over the passing 22 years - and in particularly these passing 12 months - since he left home we've nothing much left to loose. They hate transsexed people, of which I am one, but Robbie isn't, and they are going to make us pay. As though they haven't already. They want Robbie institutionalised for reasons we can not disclose and where he will die within a few months if not weeks. And me totally discredited for, well, being transsexed. Pure and simple. Both of us had hoped they would just go away. But they are going to continue their ceaseless 22 year plus stalking, slander and libel till either or both of us lay six foot under ground.

Stay tuned. 'Don't believe the suicide note', says Robbie, after I just read this to him.

Love,

Robbie and Sam. Piece #1. 01/09/2016

PUBLIC GUARDIAN REVIEW

Robbie and I went to his Public Guardianship review on the 29th of August, 2016.

(Note: Some readers to this site may remember his younger sister and his family suing for guardianship over him on the 26th August, 2015 and failing. But the NSW authorities placed him under a Public Guardianship instead as they disliked him placing confidence in me - his sole full time carer of 22 years - over that of surgeons' advice and other total strangers who more often than not misdiagnose Robbie or down right just ignore his needs because he has cerebral palsy so throw him into the too hard basket and hope he just goes away. Well, several months later I was threatened with a twelve months jail term for posting an edited version [where I had removed people's names] of the report from the Tribunal [which I have now taken down temporarily] outlining the panel's reasons for putting Robbie under a Public Guardian and my additional notes bringing to attention that, during the Tribunal hearing of the 26th, his human rights had been violated and where. That, in fact, his rights had been violated by misconduct of a certain staff member some days before the Tribunal Hearing of the 26th.)

Well, on the 29th, August, 2016, an unwelcomed participant at the review who had submitted false and misleading information to the Tribunal panel last year without any ramifications; who Robbie had disowned over a year ago and who still wants him institutionalised (not a hard guess to who) so he can not access the necessary surgery he has begged for, did something very bad and premeditated just before the review started. Traumatised him so much he started fitting and dry reaching. Thankfully he did not want any breakfast the morning of the 29th as he was already too stressed to eat even before we arrived at the Tribunal location. The review finished early. He started dry reaching and fitting again. I have never seen my friend so stressed in the 22 years I have cared for him!

Though the review went on for a while it was decided to postpone the decision to whether to free Robbie from the Public Guardianship or not for a later date though Robbie, my self and several of his friends who were physically present at the review strongly objected. He went through hell. He was ignored. He had no choice. So he remains under Public Guardianship for a few more weeks; months; forever who knows. Robbie's too shattered to say much at the moment. His hell and pain and fear of his family - who he publicly disowned a year ago - continues. Hopefully he will recover enough in a couple of days to post to his FB site SaveOurRobbie a short video to address his friends and supporters. He wants you all to know that your collective love is helping to sustain him; giving him strength.

Go Fund Me

As Robbie may have to have a bilateral hip disarticulation through a private surgeon we are raising funds to cover surgery costs and associated expenses. So as advised by a few people I have set up a Go Fund Me account.

www.gofundme.com/zd55ak5d

Professor Al Muderis, Australia's leading orthopaedic surgeon, has agreed to see Robbie again for reassessment. It was nearly three years ago that he first examined Robbie thoroughly. At the time totally opposed to a bilateral hip disarticulation. But recommended a double above knee amputation that was carried out on the 11th of December, 2013 at Penrith's Nepean hospital. The surgery was a 100% success for the purpose of removing pain in his lower legs and enabling me easier access for his personal care. But the amputations were not intended to address the excruciating pain in both his hips from bone spurs and arthritis that has led to Robbie living and sleeping in his electric wheelchair for nearly sixteen years and placing considerable strain on his entire spine. The amputations were a first step. But despite Dr Sorial reassuring us that further surgeries would be considered this has not eventuate as all other options have been dismissed.

Hip replacement is inappropriate and would still leave Robbie with two useless stumps that prevent easy access in cleaning him. Very fat stumps that are obstructing access to his stoma resulting in his need to now wear garbage bags as any wafer and bag becomes compromised.

Removing the heads of both femur bones would only leave the danger of the remaining bone riding up into the pelvic region due to muscle contracture from Robbie's particular cerebral palsy. And again cutting the ligaments and tendons entirely would not remove the problem of obstructing useless large stumps.

No surgeon has yet to advise us of any practical and beneficial alternative over that of the requested bilateral hip disarticulation.

The argument that such surgery 'might' make his condition worse has no foundation. Without the surgery he is deteriorating at a rapid pace. Which will soon result in him not being able to sleep in a bed or a wheelchair and no body will be able to care for him. He will then be placed in a hospital bed plied with heavy pain killers and sedatives and undergo a slow painful death. Or choke on his food like many with cerebral palsy have and inhale food leading to pneumonia and death from medications interfering with chewing and swallowing function. Robbie is already a high choke risk in his wheelchair sitting up straight! UNACCEPTALE alternative!!!

Nor will he loose his balance as he has no balance anyway due to clonus and the muscle contracture that gravitate him to toppling to his left side. He at all times has a side support and strap around his chest. With no clonus or muscle contracture Robbie would become stable.

Both Robbie and I do not believe there will be a major issue with phantom pain either. After his double amputation he did not suffer phantom pain to any high degree. To this day he only gets mild sensations and that is when he is stressed. Every one believed severe phantom pain would occur and that the amputations would not be a success.

I invite any surgeon or person dealing exclusively with individuals with cerebral palsy to a public debate on why he or she feels Robbie would be worse off given a bilateral hip disarticulation.

The argument that removing Robbie's legs could be a world first for someone with cerebral palsy so let's not go there is ridiculous and discrimitory. Medicine is all about world firsts. Progress after trails. Some trials work but many fail. I challenge anyone to contest me over why Robbie should not be able to decide his own fate when his fate soon will be death without surgery. Over the past 21 years surgeons have rebelled against surgical procedures he has had in the past believing such surgeries would 'destroy' his life. Nope! All treatments or surgery that Robbie has requested after becoming informed have been successful.
